Gorilla Tag Wiki

Paintbrawl was a Gamemode in Gorilla Tag. Paintbrawl was the fourth added gamemode, released to the public on September 22nd, 2022, and later on January 24th, 2025, it was removed.

Gameplay[]

Paintbrawl, formerly known as Team Battle and Battle was a game mode in which players use slingshots to shoot paint at opponents.

The official release starts by forming two random teams, changing appropriate skin colors to Blue and Orange. Every Combatant is equipped with a slingshot and three balloons on their back. The number of balloons you have was displayed on the side of your slingshot by an three bands. The slingshot can be used by grabbing the sling off your chest, using the grip or index button on your controller, and pulling it back and then releasing it to launch a paintball at other players. If a Combatant is hit, one of their balloons will pop.

After being hit once, players were given a 3-second cooldown before they are able to be hit again which is indicated by a solid red (if on orange team) or pink color (if on blue team) in replacement of their fur. When all three of a combatant's balloons are popped, they would turn into a Paint Gorilla which are unable to pop any other gorilla's balloons. Paint Gorillas can severely fatigue the combatants by hitting them with their slingshots; fatigue is indicated by a solid yellow (if on orange team) or cyan color (if on blue team) in replacement of their fur. The round ended when all of one team is turned into Paint Gorillas.

Trivia[]

  • Paintbrawl originally did not change your skin and only showed your color through your balloon.
  • September 8 was when team battle beta (aka paintbrawl) released beta.
  • On September 22nd paintbrawl officially released and now your skin color was your team's color.
  • The beta paint monke (paint monke is when you get shot 3 times) had an entirely different look to the newer one.
  • The paintbrawl update had a huge cosmetic update where your small holdables would be on your arm and your big holdables would be on your back.
  • It is sadly the least popular gamemode, lowering the chances of more being added.
  • Along with the introduction of limited time Game Modes, Paintbrawl was removed to be replaced by Ambush.
  • This gamemode has most likely been permanently removed from the game, since the "LIMITED TIME MODE" tag on Guardian and Freeze Tag have been removed on 24 January 2025.
