MonkeBlocks is the twelfth map of Gorilla Tag, and is the sixth addition to City. It is located at the back of the Nice Gorilla Store. Its primary function is as a permanent location to house the Monke Blocks feature. It was first teased on November 1, 2024 and officially released on November 15, 2024.

Description[]

After traveling through a small hallway, the player enters the mall, containing a Wardrobe, as well as some seasonal decorations. 2 windows containing a diorama featuring some cosmetics currently available in the Nice Gorilla Store can be admired by the player. On opposite wall, to the left of the Wardrobe, is a hallway leading to the building area - the main attraction of Monkeblocks. Upon entry the player is given a grow watch, and 2 plates on each arm. The building area is a tall, circular area containing a Computer, a Friend Machine, a list of all players in the server, and a large baseplate, and around the edges of the room are outlets for the Monke Blocks.

Baseplate[]

The Baseplate is the main build area of Monke Blocks that can be used for creating structures and objects. It is a central area with a large, grass surface and fourteen smaller, private plates where individual players can create their own builds. These private plates can only be accessed and built on by the user who claimed them. Additionally, the baseplate has three different meters (orange, green, and blue) that display the number of blocks that can be placed on the baseplate. Finally, there is also a shrinker and a scan loader for copying and loading builds. To load a scan, simply create a new Private Lobby and have the designated scan selected.

Trivia[]

  • Monkeblocks is the one of the only maps to feature transactions through Shiny Rocks, such as the Castle Kit, which costs 6000 Shiny Rocks and provides a wide range of castle-themed blocks and furniture inspired by classic Medieval architecture.

  • Upon release, you could escape the map by shrinking and landing on one of the walls that aren't fully filled.
    • As of 12/13/2024, this glitch has been patched and can no longer be done.
  • Sometimes the Monke Blocks don't load or take too long to load in public rooms. Rejoining may fix this.
  • Usually in public lobbies, blocks can stick to your hand, essentially replicating the old Attic platform glitch.
  • Sometimes you can't load a scan when you're in a private lobby.
