Metropolis is a map in Gorilla Tag added during the 1.1.82 Update as an appendage to the City through a metro station. Upon traversing the entrance, players will be greeted with colorful graffiti adorning the wall tiles and several signs displaying the room's publicity status. Traversing through the entire structure leads the player to the station itself which features the computer and railroad tracks that lead directly into the metropolitan area.
Description[]
The map contains many skyscrapers and buildings making up the city skyline, one of these Buildings is an under-construction Empire State Building as the centerpiece of the map. Most of the buildings and skyscrapers have posters advertising Gorilla Tag and lit up windows.
Near the backend of the map is an arch in a grass field holding a large golden gorilla statue with boxing gloves and shorts on.
Starting and ending at the metro station are railroad tracks that go throughout the entire metropolitan area. The tracks split and merge many times in order to create a path through and around the whole city.
The city is surrounded by shallow water with harbors transitioning the water to land, cargo boats are found throughout the water either next to a dock or around the harbor.
Trivia[]
- The player being oversized in the miniature map is most likely representing the player as King Kong.
- The map is easily escapable using the rope hanging off of the Empire State Building. You can escape it by doing the rope glitch.
- The area surrounding the gorilla statue is referred to as Rockefeller Center, a popular location in NYC famous for its Christmas festivities and artwork, in the game files.
- The signs hanging off the buildings change on most updates.
- During the wintertime, all of the water surrounding metropolis freezes over unlike any other map allowing for completely different gameplay
