The Manual of Style is a set of guidelines that provides a framework for how articles should be written and formatted. It helps ensure that articles are consistent in style, structure, and tone, and provides a standard for quality across the wiki.
General
- Use English across the entirety of the Gorilla Tag Wiki, which includes articles, discussion, and posts.
- Replace incorrect or outdated information.
- New pages should only include relevant and correct information regarding official Gorilla Tag content.
- Refrain from usage of unofficial content. Game modifications and personal articles are examples of unofficial content.
- Articles should be written in clear and concise language, with proper grammar and spelling.
- Avoid using subjective language or personal opinions/perspectives on subjects.
- Use a passive voice when writing articles.
Wording and Grammar
- Articles should only be written in the third person, using the term "player" for referring to the reader.
- All information should be written from a neutral Beach", should rather be phrased as "Beach can be accessed".
Terminology
- Avoid using slang terms that are commonly used within the community in articles. This may exclude official slang when referring to a noun in Gorilla Tag, such as "monke".
- Use the proper terminology when referring to game features, mechanics, or locations.
Text Styling
The bold styling should be applied to the page name featured in the introductory description of an article. Pages that are referenced in corresponding subjects should be linked.
