"I wonder what's coming next? Lucy, do you know?"

Lucy, also known as Skeleton Ghost, is a mysterious character that was first mentioned in a teaser for the Halloween 2022 update. She is a ghostly figure that chases after players in order to give them a scare.

Feature

Spawn Points

Lucy can appear in very specific spots in every map. Let's call these Spawn Points. There is 1 Spawn Point per map.

Forest

In Forest, the Spawn Point is the gravestone labelled "RIP Lucy" that is to the right of the treehouse.

Cave

In Crystal Caverns, the Spawn Point is Right Next To Giant Crystal. There Is a grave with candles on it.

Canyon

In Canyon, the Spawn Point is within the crack that has Purple Crystal walls. You will see a circle of candles.

City

In City, the Spawn Point is in the Competitive Course area. All the way in the back, there is a skeleton that is filled with crystals.

Mountain

In Mountain, the Spawn Point is on the platform closest to Secret Tunnel. On it there are four pumpkins and a skeleton wearing a scarf.

Clouds

In Clouds, Lucy spawns in an unknown location.

Beach

In Beach, Lucy spawns somewhere outside the map, near Forest.

Spawning Instructions

When spawned, Lucy chases a random player in the lobby, regardless if they are close to the spawning point or not. She slowly accelerates toward the player until they are caught. When that happens, Lucy comes close to the camera, like a jumpscare, and grabs the player, carrying them up for a few seconds.

If 1-5 players stand around a spawn point for a while, Lucy will spawn in her blue form. As she comes up from her grave, you will be able to hear cackling. She will chase 1 random player until they get caught. When the player is caught, Lucy will grab onto them and float directly up with them for about 6 seconds while cackling. Afterwards, she will disappear and the caught player will be dropped to the ground.

If 6-10 players stand around a spawn point for a while, Lucy will spawn in her red form. This form is exactly the same as her blue form, but faster. As she comes up from her grave, loud gongs will be heard and Lucy will growl. When caught, Lucy does the same thing as her blue form and floats directly upwards for about 6 seconds. She will growl at the player once caught.

The more players that are around the spawn point, the faster Lucy will appear.

Sometimes, Lucy's blue form can spawn randomly even when nobody is near the grave. However, if you want to purposefully make her spawn, standing near the grave speeds up the process.

Misinformation

Here's a list of helpful info that will hopefully clear up some misinformation.

Lucy will not kick or ban you.
You don't need to hit any skulls or stand on any candles or pumpkins to get her to spawn. All you have to do is stand near the spawning area.
Lucy's backstory has not been revealed yet. If someone tries to explain her story to you, it's only speculation.
Lucy only has a red and blue variant, any other colors are photoshopped.

Appearance

As a skeleton, she can be seen sticking out in front of her grave.

As a ghost, Lucy has the same appearance of all of the other skeletons that can be seen around Gorilla World during Halloween 2022, with big goofy googly eyes. She is also slightly transparent, and appears a light shade of blue or red depending on the situation.. While moving around, her skull bends and rotates unnaturally.

Trivia

Lucy may be a nod to the various "Gorilla Tag Ghosts" or creepypastas that have gained popularity among the Gorilla Tag community.
The name "Lucy" may be a reference to the fact that the earliest human remains ever found were named Lucy.
It's currently unknown if Lucy is the red Skeleton Ghost, the blue Skeleton Ghost, purple skeleton Ghost, green skeleton Ghost, or all of them. However, it is safe to assume that it's is, considering most can come from Lucy's grave.
When Lucy's name was revealed in the teaser for the Halloween 2022 update, many people assumed it was the name of the skull in the image. However, when the update came out, the skull's name was revealed to be Yorick.
When Lucy catches their target player, one can strategically escape a few maps by having Lucy catch you near the edge, lifting you out.
There were no purple, green, black, etc. variants of Lucy, the only variants added in the original are the Blue and Red forms.
Lucy is the only real ghost in gorilla tag, all others are fake.
