Gorilla Tag Wiki

Critters is the sixteenth Map in Gorilla Tag. Critters was added on April 4, 2025 or version 1.1.103.

Description[]

Critters is the first open-world Map added to Gorilla Tag, with idea of an open-world Map being conceptualized since early development of the City Map, which is also where Critters can be accessed. Critters is split up into three biomes, including the forest, the desert, and the mountain, with five habitats overall, including the grassland and the cave in addition to the biomes. The critters map also came with a new bundle: The Critter Caretaker Bundle

Access[]

Critters can be accessed beside the ramp leading up to the Mountain Map, and through a winding dirt tunnel. Just outside the tunnel above it's entrance is a neon sign reading out "CRITTERS" with a symbol of a critter.

Inhabitants[]

There are a bunch of creatures in the form of animals that inhabit the Map. Canonically, these critters are said to have "escaped", leaving them to freely roam the Map and have them captured by players. Each of these critters come in different names, species, sizes, and originate in their own specified habitat based on their identity.

Homes[]

There are three homes placed around the entirety of Critters; one located in the forest near the front of the entrance, one located in the grassland, and one located in the mountain. These homes consist of a cage dispenser and cage deposit machine in addition to multiple dispensers for unique tools the player can use to capture and rescue critters.

Menagerie[]

There is a single menagerie placed in Critters to the left of the entrance of the Map. The menagerie is where you get to manage the critters you collect, whether you want to return them to the wild, or bring them onto the collection. The menagerie can hold one of every type of critter, with a reserved spot near the end for a particular critter. Like a home, the menagerie also contains a single cage deposit machine.

Critters[]

As previously defined in the description of the Map, the critters are what inhabitants the Map. Currently, there are sixteen unique types of these critters. Nine are permanent, whilst the other seven are limited time.
