Beach is a coast-themed map that was added during the 1.1.45 update as an appendage to Forest in the form of a tunnel.
General Information[]
Upon entering the tunnel, players find themselves in a rocky mine adorned with crystals of diverse hues along the walls and a pool of water on the bottom. Reaching the end, either by swimming through the water or descending via the zipline, players will encounter a rope. Climbing this rope seamlessly transitions them to the Beach map. Beach map is meant for hiding in the water and hide and seek games.
The map consists of several decorations, umbrellas scattered around the map, a set of orange tents, and a palm tree cluster near the docks. There are also some structures such as a sunken ship, a fortress, a coral reef ocean, ropes mainly near the sunken ship, and ziplines around the map. Both the ropes and ziplines are identical to those within the Canyon map.
There are also several waterfalls and streams. One particular stream flows from the rear to the front, while another meanders through several curves, eventually cascading players into a section of the ocean near the map's spawn point.
Near the end of the ocean, there is a coral reef, as well as buoys.
During the Pride Update, there were a large obstacle course covering most of the ocean beyond the pirate ship. Balloons and balloon arches have been added around the map as well. It returned in a different color scheme during the Christmas Update on December 13, 2024.
Trivia[]
- Beach is the second map to add more dynamic mechanics for the Gorilla Locomotion, being Swimming.
- At the entrance of the Beach, there is a Computer Terminal with Gorilla OS. With the release of the map, Beach became the fourth map to add all three of these interactions and the fifth map to add a computer.
- Also, near the docks, there is a speaker that plays the song "Avast! Beach Cove!"
- Players can escape the map by swimming on water perfectly and maintain fast momentum to speed past a wind barrier and the only way they can get tagged is if someone else does it. As of early 2025, escaping the Beach was made harder to perform.
- The Clouds tree can be seen far above from Beach map
- Prior to Beach Map’s release, Beach Map’s entrance was referred to by players as “Secret Tunnel"
- Upon release, Cave was temporarily blocked off with boulders.
