General Information[]
Attic is a temporary map in Gorilla Tag introduced during the 1.1.83 update, being accessible through a wooden tunnel in the passageway from Stump to City. The entrance to the Attic features a sign warning players of the map's limited time and a hanging lantern near the main chamber. Once past the map's entry tunnel players will see a wooden room reminiscent of Hat Room containing the computer and shelves stocked with objects the players can build with.
On July 26, 2024, the Attic was blocked up in a similar fashion of Cave and Clouds during their revamp periods. The player can peek through the boards blocking the map to see a sign saying:
CLEANED UP AND PUT IN STORAGE.
FOR NOW..."
On November 15, 2024, the Attic was replaced by Monkeblocks, a map accessible through City. Attic was also fully boarded up, which means players can no longer see through the wood blocking it off. Glitching inside will only result in seeing the entrance dark, and Attic is no longer rendered inside of Stump when Forest is loaded.
On January 23, 2025, a calendar with the 8th of February circled was added hanging on the boards, hinting a possible reopening of the Attic.
However, this calendar was instead teasing the update that released for Lemming's birthday.
At the moment, the fate of this map is unknown.
Although the map could still return with something new on july 16th.
Description[]
The map takes on a cylindrical shape and holds many shelfs along the walls with objects from different maps. To the right of the entrance there is a second floor holding the computer and game mode changer.
On the floor of room is a square mat tiled with grass squares, this is the designated area for players to build. Coming off the mat are two size changers labels "Grow Monke" and "Shrink Monke".
Trivia[]
- Attic is a revamped version of the Hat Room, found in earlier beta versions of the game from the SideQuest days.
- Whilst being in a private room, the lobby master can still interact with 'Monke Blocks' that have exited the Attic map.
- There were only 60 types of 'Monke Blocks' (including all materials ex: wood, dark wood, concrete) before the 11/15/2024 update.
- Although the Attic was removed, the Monke Blocks have been brought back into their own room in Monkeblocks
